Its fine, smooth paste and firm, elastic texture give this cheese exceptional melting qualities, making it perfect for grilling, soufflés, and classic Swiss fondue. As it matures, the rind develops a firm, waxy character that enhances both its depth and complexity. Drinks to pair

 Full-bodied white wines, medium-bodied red wines, dessert wines, fortified wines and beer will all match nicely with this style of cheese.

 Accompaniments

 

Heidi Farm Gruyere works well on a cheese platter with either fruit or savoury accompaniments. It partners beautifully with smoked ham and ripe tomatoes.
